Positive: The staff was very friendly, the room was large and the location was perfect. Negative: The breakfast was poor we had to eat out everyday and the floor in the room left my child¿s knees black.

Very dirty and smells terrible. Rooms aren't that bad. Bed is fairly comfortable but again, not that clean. The property needs alot of work and the staff need to take some pride in their business/hotel.

I stayed at this hotel for one night recently because of its convenient location off I-84 in Southington, CT. The young woman who checked me in was pleasant and efficient but that is about the nicest thing I can say about this hotel. It was obvious (I was walking with a cane) that I could have used some assistance carrying my bag to the room but there was no one available to help me. So, I walked down a long hallway carrying my bag with some difficulty. When I got in the room, the bathroom tub was leaking from the spout and I was unable to get it to stopped. It was very loud and would not be conducive to sleep so I walked back to the front desk and asked for another room. I was given the key to another room, much further down the hallway, and as soon as I opened the door, I was hit with the blast of strong cigarette smoke. So, I walked back to the front desk, explained the situation and was given a key to a third room. But, again, I had to walk all the way down the hallway to the third room which was quite a distance. No one told me I could have driven down to an external access door closer to my room instead of walking down a very long hallway. It wasn't until later that I learned about this door (controlled by a hotel key lock) near my room right off the parking area. I was told this was a secure door but it was NOT. When I tried to use my key access, the machine did not even light up but the door was already unlocked. From about 3 pm when I arrived in the room, until midnight, people were coming in the door without using any key access. Sometime after midnight, the door WAS locked and people came to the door and pounded on it to gain access to the hotel which was very disturbing. It did not make me feel very safe or secure. There were handicapped parking slots near the front entrance but there were none near the external access door mentioned above. There should have been a few slots near the external access door for that purpose. And guests, especially those who are visibly disabled, should be told they can drive to that door and enter the building there instead of walking down a long hallway. The room was nice and clean. The sleeping area was obviously renovated but only a part of the bathroom was new. The bath/shower needed some intensive cleaning. The room had no alarm clock but there was one on the microwave, the refrigerator was not level (when you touched the door it tipped over), there was no pen or pad of paper near the phone, and there was no coffee or tea maker in the room. The "included" breakfast was appalling. There were some whole apples, dried cereal, orange juice and pancake batter to make your own pancakes. No toast, muffins, pastries. And the food service counter was very dirty. I went elsewhere for breakfast. Finally, although the rooms seem to have been renovated, the walls were so thin that you could hear everything going on in the rooms around you. At one point, around midnight, when I was desperately trying to get some sleep, I could hear 4 separate conversations -- two from the rooms above me, one from the room next to mine, and one from the hallway. Things did not settle down and get quiet until well after 1 am. One last comment, much to my surprise, the bed was extremely comfortable for sleeping and the bed coverings were very conducive to sleeping. But that does not make up for all the problems mentioned above. This facility needs some improvement and it has made me reconsider staying in a Days Inn ever again.

The two stars are for the friendly staff. The room was dirty including stained sheets, dingy towels and grime in the bathroom. The toilet seat felt like it wasn't bolted down. The toilet paper holder was askew. The whole atmosphere of the hotel just felt old and worn. Great price but in this case, you get what you pay for.

I stayed there with my small dog and no one said anything I think if you had a large dog that was barking and having a nuisance problem then it would become a problem but I had a small dog there for a couple of nights in a row and had the dog outside using the bathroom and the dog to not bark at all and no one said anything to me because you don't have to walk through the lobby you take the side door
