I have been going to UV Latin Dance Academy for 6 years now, however I have been learning from and training with Uriel and Vera for 7 years. So trust me when I say that they are the best dance instructors in the area. With more than 35 years of dance experience combined, 9 world 1st place trophies 🏆 and placing 3rd at the Blackpool Dance Festival (The Most prestigious dance competition in the world), Uriel and Vera are the epitome of professionalism, dedication, utmost technique and quality instruction. When I started my dance journey 7 years ago, it was very important for me to find coaches that would help me bring my dancing to the next level, Uriel and Vera did not disappoint. Their dance curriculum is very well thought out and follows a sensible progression that allows for an effective learning environment. They are very patient, supportive and motivating. They give clear instructions, make classes fun for all and most importantly foster a friendly and family atmosphere at the Academy. Walking into UV Latin Dance Academy was the best decision I could have made when I moved to South Florida. The owners, Uri and Vera, and all the staff exemplify warmth, professionalism, and quality in everything they do--from the class instruction to the administration, to the socials, shows, and competitions, and everything in between. As a trained dancer, I was looking for a studio that would still push me and challenge me, and I found it in the amazing variety of classes they offer, and the highly qualified team of instructors. Best of all, I found a home at UV full of so many other amazing people and dancers. I have attended UV Latin Dance Academy for over 4 years and have completed the entire curriculum. Having been a dancer for over 35 years, training in ballet, ballroom, contemporary, and many other disciplines, I can assure you that this is one of the most well-organized studios I have ever taken class at. Not only are Uri and Vera consummate professionals, but they are amazingly-talented instructors. Yes, they are 9-time World Latin Dance Champions and have won 3rd place at Blackpool (the most prestigious ballroom competition in the world), but they actually know how to teach and how to take their years of knowledge and experience to apply it in the classroom. I appreciate the methodology of the Academy, as it has a set curriculum and syllabi for each level to ensure students progress in a thoughtful manner to feel confident about their dancing. I have watched fellow students start in Level 1 and progress through the levels to become wonderful, intelligent dancers. Not only do they know the moves, but they understand the dynamics of how to piece moves together, how to make sure their partner is comfortable, and the etiquette of social dancing. The people who attend UV are kind and supportive, and most of all we have fun together! The atmosphere Uri and Vera have created is that when you come to the studio, you are part of our dance family. UV Latin Dance Academy has been my oasis, the place where I relax after work, enjoy moving and socialize. I highly recommend the Academy both from the perspective of the level of instruction you will receive and the enjoyment you will find in learning to dance — come be part of our family!
