Amazing hike. The actual trail is a 2 track service road, so not a through the woods hike per say. Fairly steep and consistent grade. Make sure to check out the Campbell reservoir - it is a good half way point to stop for a rest. Views are great up top but be careful there is no railing. Finding where to park is the hardest part. Look for this rusty car for the start of the trail. Trail is partially marked by purple blazes along the way but just stick to the road if you don't see them. Plan for a good 2 hrs round trip with 20 minutes of taking in the sights.

Don't know if we got to the ledge but my mom was tired. Pup approved! Only issue is weird parking, because the other side is restricted and says no parking, so we parked right in front of the closed and chained gate, was hard to get around but we got through.... Left my four ways on just in case we got towed, had my fingers crossed that didn't happen because I live out of state. Also, the GPS said that's where we park but doesn't really look safe considering there's a huge hill behind? Maybe need to reroute that for Google? Can you guys add a GPS address for nicer parking?

Can't even count how many times i've hiked this trail. It's best to go first thing in the morning before 9am-ish because you beat the heat when its nice out. The view is awesome at the top! The reservoir is beautiful! Recommend a sunrise hike & a sunset hike! The trails through the woods are relaxing. Great place to hike w/ your pets!

When are the gates open? They all look closed on google maps , is it seasonal?

You can only walk up there, it's closed to all motor vehicles, including ATV's. I know several people who have been fined for ATV riding, but hiking should be fine.
