I am a current resident at Mt. Bachelor Assisted Living and Memory Care and I love how safe I am here. It's the safest place for me right now. All of the activities the staff put on are engaging and we have a lot of fun. My favorite thing here is when we have musicians come. All of the music is just amazing! All of the other residents are extremely friendly. I was worried about moving here at first because I don't like change but the staff here and my daughter made the transition very easy for me. I am beyond happy to live here.

The memory care unit is very disorganized and extremely low on staff. Many are lazy and let others do the scutt work. Some of the residents are violent and have hurt staff. It seems as though the most difficult residents get dumped here. Staff Schedules are constantly being changed.

My mom had fun living here! The lovely dining room, and the great choice of delicious food. She loved playing poker and going on picnics and short trips. Thanks to the staff!

We have a variety of different service groups who come in but are always welcoming to additional denominations. Covid restrictions have limited outside visitors and virtual services are offered as well.

Our memory care community is the first in the area to offer a Montessori-based Dementia Care Program which includes a gap-free activities schedule, community service outings and opportunities, as well as social roles or jobs for residents who wish to remain active and engaged in helping others. We are gold-level credentialed through the Center for Applied Research in Dementia. Medicare does not cover Assisted Living or Memory Care, but sometimes Medicaid or other VA benefits can help. Costs are based on the individual needs of the residents and business hours are from 9-5 (although we are always open).

Do you take clients for a weekend so that caregivers can get a break?

I am not aware of any short-term rooms available. Mt. Bachelor is a long-term assisted living facility.
