Small county park with numerous nature trail. Not much of a view but good for a quick hike. The Mountain Trail connects to the Long Path

I saw a red tailed hawk upon entry, feasting on a deer carcass. He later watched me from a tree. Although you can hear the Thruway you are deep in the woods. Orange and White trails were steeper than I was prepared for. I walked the orange trail to connect to white trail to make a loop. Unfortunately I couldn't find markers for orange trail by creek and lost the trail near the Thruway. Many trees were down in this area and I had no idea where to go. I called for assistance and the operator stayed on the line guiding me deeper into the woods and eventually back onto the trail by cell phone gps. Police officer was waiting by my car in the parking lot to make sure I was ok. Very reassuring and appreciated.

Nice but small county park. There is a parking lot that is easy to drive up to and well marked and maintained. There are just a couple of trails inside the park, and they are well blazed. No super great views, but there's a little wooden bridge over a stream. Take the goat path if you want a little more of a challenge.

Mostly technical and vertical trails, with beautiful woodlands and a mountain. However, I thought the scenic lookout would show me the Tappan zee bridge but it overlooks the palisades mall and the highway. Download the map before you go!
