This lighthouse protected vessels from dangerous waters where the Susquehanna River traveled 444 miles to meet the Chesapeake Bay. It was originally lit by 9 whale oil lamps with tin reflectors that could be seen from 8 miles away This spot is where British Forces attacked the city from the sea and destroyed the city of Havre De Grace Maryland during the war of 1812. The lighthouse keeper was one of the heroes in the defense of the City. President Clinton and Vice President Gore gave a speech here in 1995. This place is on the National Register of Historic Places.

Great old lighthouse with a ton of history attached to her. There was an art show around her over this past weekend but poorly advertised about Concord Lighthouse hosting half the artists. Good pix of the lighthouse and the third pic is the Lighthouse Keepers House.
