Unfortunately the experience was horrible. Ordered delivery: Milkshake completely melted; onion rings fried to a burnt crisp, looked like a half order too; Cheeseburger overcooked, didn't fill the bun, lettuce wilted. Seriously, where is the meat?? Entire order was poor.

Umami burger is amazing. The wait staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The burgers are of course delicious. There is a great Happy Hour menu that has a lot to offer for $6 appetizers. The alcohol menu is pretty extensive. There are a lot of beers on tap and something to find for anyone looking to drink. Also the inclusion of the impossible burger to appease to vegetarian and vegan tastes is very accommodating. They serve other things if you aren't in the mood or can't eat beef burgers, such as chicken or ahi tuna. A party of 6 of us were there tonight and we all shared lollipop wings, sweet potato fries, and shishito peppers. All the sauces that accompanied the sides were delicious many of them had a hint of truffle, and I thought it really elevated the flavor. For my burger I choose the sunny side which comes with a single patty, parmesan frico, fried egg, truffle thyme compound butter, and truffled aioli. The flavors were amazing. The meat was cooked perfectly as I asked and the burger was by far one of the best burgers I have ever had. Umami burger is definitely a gem and I look forward to coming back here to try their other burger creations.

I've eaten here only twice, once I ordered an Ahi burger and beers which were at happy hour pricing. Most recently we ordered " Impossible Burgers" which took longer to emerge from kitchen than anticipated. We killed two appetizers ( a delicious spicy edamame, and boring battered frozen sweet potato fries) and some beers waiting for the burgers. It was pleasant on the outdoor patio, and the place only had a few active tables going on inside on a Sunday eve. Despite being the most expensive menu items, the "Impossible Burger" preparation seemed an afterthought, arriving nearly 30 minutes later grey and dry inside unlike the marketing materials I had seen prior which raved about the high moisture content and pink fleshy faux hemoglobin rich interior. The exterior of the patty was crisp, but closer to blackened than a well cared for burger. The suggested menu serving was with American Cheese but we opted for white cheddar which while melted, seemed had gone long past mere bubbling and seemed to me almost cooked away and evaporated on the surface of the burger. We devoured our burgers anyway despite any apprehensions. I was a little disappointed and will have to go back and see if this was an aberration or what the hype was all about. Our server was attentive, helpful and polite, and said "Impossible Foods" trained them to crisp their genetically modified veggie burgers on purpose. Really?

Outstanding food, quality service & bars staff, and truffle everything. please .LOL... Must must eat here if u havent already... This place is most def one of my favorite places to stop and eat when I'm in the area visiting.. Always get great service, never had a wait over 3-5 minutes, though parking is not always the easiest thing... I drive down from Humboldt County to Berkeley alot to service my Audi's I JUST have to eat here, turn around and go back home then do it again like I live down the road or something

Wow, what time of the day was it, maybe they were swamped. Well it's said "good food takes time."
