Very noisy with poor soundproofing right next to huge motorway. $28 offsite parking a few blocks away, no security at this place. Hotel looks recently refurbished in general but cleanliness could be improved, there was a lot of dust in every corner even if most surfaces were cleaned and the bed linens were clean. When requesting a crib for an infant, which we had confirmed in advance existed, we got an unopened box with a foldable crib which we were expected to unpack and assemble by ourselves. Electricity plug socket not securely attached to the wall creating hazard for children. A lot of really friendly body builders hang out in the hotel.

BEWARE ABOUT PARKING! I was extremely upset that I was not informed that this hotel doesn't offer on-site self-parking or valet. I drove around the block of the downtown building three times, trying to find the parking lot or valet stand in the rain during rush hour until I called and was informed that there is no parking and to use the public garage off-site; two blocks away. Being unfamiliar with the city, I unfortunately parked in the wrong garage, even further away, and had to haul multiple heavy bags to the hotel in the pouring rain, four blocks away. The unacceptable parking situation was not disclosed in any of my reservation emails, and I did not receive a courtesy call/message before my arrival informing me where I should park my car. Not knowing this information ahead of time made my welcoming stay extremely unpleasant, especially when it was pouring rain and I had dinner reservations right after I checked in. I now understand that the hotel does disclose the off-site parking, buried in the app under "what to expect", then tapping "parking & transit," then tapping "parking." Even with this, the hotel doesn't share detailed parking information. As this is very uncommon, for a hotel not to have parking or valet, this hotel needs to be upfront about it on the reservation page and send emails, calls/messages informing guests before their arrival. Not to mention, from the nearest garage, you need to walk down a dark stone/brick alleyway, which is not fun/safe, especially at night, as it's an uneven surface on both the street and the tiny sidewalk. Iv never stayed at a hotel that didn't have on-site self or valet parking available. If I had known this, I would have never booked this hotel as I needed quick (and dry) access to my car. On the bright side, the room was clean & comfortable, even with the small entryway, which made bringing in multiple big bags a bit annoying.

All staff members I met were rude and inconsiderate especially one in particular that could not put her phone down for a minute to address my concerns. The worst part is she said it was a medical device. I was not born yesterday. I am an educated individual and I know the difference between a phone and a medical device. I'm sure that people who actually suffer from a medical condition and need a device would not appreciate this. When you try to address anything with the general manager he also lies and is inconsistent with everything. My situation was just swept under the rug. I would never stay or recommend this property to anyone.

My BFF and I met in Pittsburgh for a girls weekend. Decided on the Fairfield inn downtown bc of the location. Check in was interesting bc there is no on site parking and the small loading area was full of cars. My friend had to circle the block a few times to wait while I was checking in. Parking garage a few blocks away under construction so parking was not ideal but did not detract from the hotel itself. Staff were always pleasant and easy to deal with. The room had a partial view of the Smithfield bridge and river, which was delightful! The only issues I felt needed addressing was the bathroom in the room. Overall it was pretty clean. I think they could do a slightly better job cleaning under the vanity/sink area. Floor was a little gross under there. Other minor concern was the lack of outlets near the bed. Had to pull off a secret door by the nightstand to find outlets for my phone charger. A/C worked like a dream and kept us cool at night!! Overall, this property met my expectations and I would absolutely stay there again!

Questions & Answers

I cannot find ANY REVIEWS on this property. When I call the hotel - no one answers and it rolls over to a voice message that says this mail box is FULL?? What is the story? I booked for September - is this a REAL hotel?
