The visitor center provides a great introduction to the battle/siege of Yorktown. Then, the driving tour provides a good exposure to what the battlefield probably looked like. Redoubt 9/10 is the best stop, but I'd recommend doing the driving tour stopping at the second siege line, Redoubt 9/10, the Moore House, and surrender field at a minimum. Make sure you pick up the park brochure to compliment the specific driving tour signs to help you navigate to the stops.

The visitor center and battlefield are amazing to see from a historical perspective but as attractions go, it was lacking. The flow of the building itself distracted from what the theme of the visitor center was trying to establish. I'd love to see more focused exhibits help transition visitors through smoother. Still a great visit if you are even remotely interested in history.

The Yorktown National Battlefield Park tells the story of the concluding confrontation of the Revolutionary War. The installation in the Visitors Center is interesting and educational. The driving tour of the battlefield is also a great view of the ground where the siege occurred and how the English lost. Definitely download the Yorktown app since the narration is very helpful. The colonial town also gives you the sense of what the grounds were like in that era. It's much less touristy than nearby Williamsburg and much less crowded. The memorial is also a nice place to stop.
Moving on with Old Man River Old man river
This is a fee park. Cost is 15.00 per person unless you have pass. The park is re-going repairs to the earthworks. The film is not being shown at this time, it started at the beginning of covid. I did the entire driving tour. I liked reading all the information signs.the driving tour also has a lot of bicycles on it.
