It seems to be an older structure, all wood. Three floors, but you have to take the stairs up. It is upkept well and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Overall decent, economical lodging.

Positive: Location right off the main road. Very friendly staff. Beds were comfortable and room was spacious. Negative: Room was decent but dated. Needed some renovations. Was put on the 3rd floor last room on the back of the motel even though there were rooms open on front of motel and 1st floor/second floor. Had to walk by smoking stations which stunck.

The building is a little out dated, but is in the process of updating. Rooms were very clean and the staff very friendly. It is pretty centrally located and within walking distance to many stores, food, and shopping places. The trolley has a stop right out front as well.

Nice front desk. Rooms are ok, pretty typical old beach hotel. Ceiling could use a cleaning. Pool, gazebo area for picnicking. All around nice place.

The "beach" is in Assateague park so no hotel is close, since you have to go into a park to get to it.
Yes dogs are allowed on the island on a leash if you go over to assateague dogs are not allowed on the beach or off the leash at all so assateague island no dogs yes dogs are allowed on Chincoteague
There weren't any shuttles when we were there. It is within biking distance if you have a bike. Driving distance it's about a 5 min drive if that. You could also walk but it's a long walk. I'm not sure where to park for the swim but the hotel has parking obviously
