I bought a plant here today. The prices are pretty great, and the staff (volunteers?) were very helpful. They close at 2 so I usually miss the plant sale! Was great to see it all today, lots of different types of plants. Will be back to check out the indoor greenhouse area next time!

Open 11am-2pm every weekend. 11-1 in winter months. Masks required. Great place to buy plants and to spend time to just enjoy the gardens. This non-profit has hundreds of members and 50 unpaid volunteers who work tirelessly to maintain many of the gardens in San Mateo Central Park. All proceeds from the sale of plants are used for park plant care and garden maintenance. Their mission is to educate the community about horticulture.

This place is absolutely amazing for seasoned gardeners and novices alike. The volunteers are truly phenomenal wearing a smile and helping answer nonstop questions. The place is run so well it is hard to believe it is all done by volunteers. The prices are so reasonable I just snagged over 15 plants with less than a 100 dollars. Highly recommend it.

Volunteers are lovely to chat with and get some knowledge about caring for plants in San Mateo. An assortment of plants for sale, all really reasonably priced. They have lectures and workshops as well.
