Beautiful landscaping. Easy with wheelchair. Sorry we didn't check days they had prom photos and a wedding. So we were in early enough before crowd got in. All in ALL beautiful ❤️

Went for a walk at Rutgers Gardens today (end of May). There were lots of labeled trees, bushes, and flowers. In bloom were dogwood trees, peonies, azaleas, herbs, magnolias, irises, and bleeding hearts to name a few. There were quite a few benches and gazebos to rest in the shade. Saw lots of birds and chipmonks. A sign by the bamboo forest even mentioned bears. The overflow parking and restrooms were closed, which didn't make me very happy. However we did find a port-a-potty. Overall it was a pretty nice place to take a walk and enjoy nature.

YES. You need to call ahead to schedule and purchase a photo permit for ANY posed photography on the grounds—wedding, prom, baby, engagement, etc.
Azaleas and rhododendrons are gorgeous here.
You do need to book in advance, and it requires a permit. We recommend at least 2 weeks in advance, but longer is advised for busier times of year. But you can still get a permit a couple of days in advance, as long as there is availability on the schedule.
The farm market is open from 11 to 5
There is a fee for professional use. Contact the office. There are signs everywhere prohibiting such photos without permission!! If it is just your mom and you and your date, they probably won't care.
