Sean and the entire staff at Arrows and Embers are very down to earth and approachable. I went in for my tattoo and it was a fantastic experience. The entire experience was very comfortable and welcoming. This is a fantastic establishment and I'd recommend it to everyone. Check the work of them of these artists - you'd be shocked at what you can do! Update: the piece came out absolutely perfect! First session healed completely with no issues, with the expectation that the second session will do the same. The next experience was even more accommodating than the first one. 10/10 would recommend to anyone. I won't be going anywhere else.

I first wandered into Arrows and Embers when it was located on Pleasant Street in downtown Concord about seven years ago. I was looking for an artist to do a cover-up, righting one of my past mistakes, and I went to a couple of shops whose "artists" said it couldn't be done. However, when my then-girlfriend (now wife) and I went into Arrows and Embers, we met Sean and he was immediately optimistic and excited, yet tempered and realistic. We discussed ideas and settled on something which turned out fantastic after only two sessions. This tattoo goes from my armpit to my waste and you would never know it covers another. Needless to say, we were ecstatic and I have since never considered another artist. I've since had many more tattoos from Sean over the past seven years. In my humble opinion, he is the best of the best. Anyone who has given him a bad review should really take a good, long, difficult look in the mirror (because chances are, if you think everyone else is crazy, it's probably not everyone else!). Some people are just plain unreasonable; it really is true that no matter your disposition, you can't please everybody. That said, Sean is easygoing, very easy to talk to about anything and exceptional at his craft. If you are considering getting work done by Sean, be prepared to wait or book your appointment as early as possible, as he is often booked out for ten months to a year in advance. Considering this, his prices are more than reasonable; in fact, he could easily command a higher price and people would pay it. if you are looking for flash tattoos from wall posters, don't bother because Arrows and Embers is a custom tattoo shop. If, however, you are looking for art that makes you happy every time you look at it on your skin, then you couldn't pick a better artist or a better shop. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the responsiveness of the people working in the shop, and this is especially true of Jenn. She's always friendly and it adds significantly to the vibe of the shop. Everyone in the shop is extremely friendly. Arrows and Embers hands-down has the best artists and the best atmosphere. I'm always looking forward to my next session for the art and the conversation.

I cannot thank Sean Ambrose enough!! He took my idea and made it better than I could even imagine. The tattoo he did for me was GORGEOUS!! Line work was amazing and his use of color blew my mind. On top of all that, he's friendly and a great listener. My overall experience was WELL WORTH the hour-long drive, and I can't wait to come back as a returning customer.

***Updated May 24,2019 So thrilled with my beach scene! Sean is so incredibly talented, sweet & professional. Sat for 3 1/2 hours, he has such a light hand. Can’t wait to add the finishing touches next month. I highly recommend Sean and the team at Arrows & Embers. Clean and cool space, friendly people, professional but fun atmosphere. And organic ink! Thank you!!! We have been looking forward to getting a tattoo from Sean since we saw his beautiful work at the Boston Tattoo Convention 7 years ago. He was so worth waiting for and well worth the drive from South Shore, MA. Jenn was amazing in all the steps leading up to our appointment. Sean is incredibly friendly and professional. He has a light touch and the piece came out even better than we hoped. Thank you, can't wait for my turn in May!

Questions & Answers

How far out are appointments for new customers?

Arrows and Embers Custom Tattoo | Aug 31, 2019

This is the million dollar question! Right now we have three different artists who all have different availability. Sean Ambrose, the shop owner and who has been established the longest in this area out of our artists is usually a 10-13 month wait. We have two other artists, though-Jason Dasaro usually books out anywhere between 1-3 months and right now Amy Borch is booking out 1-3 weeks. Please take a peek at our FaceBook page to see albums dedicated to each artists' work or stop by the shop to view portfolios in person. If you have any other questions, please give us a call! Hey Bethany-great questions. We are typically by appointment only, but when we DO have the availability for walk-ins we post it on our Instagram and FaceBook pages, so take peek that those for updates. As far as consultations go, they cost $20 cash at the time of scheduling unless you're booking a consult with Will (Will's consults are free, but are by appointment only).
