My friends and I did the auto tour the other day, and we had a lovely time looking at all the different birds. Definitely make sure to take advantage of the restrooms at the entrance, because it takes a good 90 minutes to do the entire loop. Bring binoculars!

It was a very peaceful place to get away from the city. Just be sure not to walk on the car tour trail. People got very sensitive about me walking on the car tour trail. $300 fine if caught by state park officials.

this Refuge supports wintering populations of more than 200,000 ducks and 50,000 geese. It is a drive thru only refuge so DO NOT GET OUT OF CAR you could disrupt the mating cycles! there is a lot of endangered plants and animals that live here. It's a great place for photography, and I see animals almost every time I go! some animals that I have seen include Deer, pheasant, turkey, cranes and all kinds of birds, cotton tail rabbits, Hawks, vultures.
