Great hike & part of the ADK firetower challenge. Amazing views of the southern Adirondacks from the tower. I did this hike in the winter and it was challenging because of the amount of ice. This is likely a very wet trail in streambeds in other seasons. Bring microspikes if attempting in the winter. I'd rate it moderate due to the steepness and amount of ice/rocks. Parking was no problem, and the road was in good condition to get there without having a high clearance vehicle. Tower at the top has a great view and there are lots of spots to see views on the way up. It doesn't really give you much of a break while you climb, so take in the views while catching your breath!

Clean parking lot, clean portable potty. Trail well maintained. Very good hike, very rocky I'd say fine for older kids or those good on their feet ( not my 3 year old lol)

The hike was definitely moderate with a lot of Rocky area to climb. Got a little slick where the leaves were wet on the rock but could easily find a way up any tough area. The views at the top were amazing. We went on a nice fall day a little bit past peak, I would say. The fire tower had a nice view but it was quite windy while up there and may be scary for those with a fear of heights. I would recommend this hike for sure.

Really great trail. As beginners, it was pretty steep and took 1.5 hours to get to the top. Some wet and muddy parts but its mainly rock all the way up. Buggier towards the top. Great view from the fire tower. Watch your footing on the way down. Took us a bit over an hour to get back.
