Didn’t get into the house but the garden next to it provided a respite from the midday heat. And the view !

i have been trying to visit Montgomery Place for the pass 3 or 4 years. finally i got the chance (9-21-2019) and it wasn't a disappointment. it was a beautiful September morning and the ground covered with morning dew. we spent 90 minutes seeing the ground and other building before we went to take the first tour of the day (10:30am). we met these two lovely ladies and had a nice chat with them but to my surprise both were employees and one was our tour guide. both ladies were fantastic. a real bonus to the Montgomery Place. the house is simple beautiful and the tour moved at a nice pace. i'm not bore you with details but this was my favorite tour in the area and i have been on quite a few. my only regret is i didn't pack a picnic lunch to enjoy the view of the hudson in the backyard. there is an added bonus to this gem. if you are not a hiker don't be intimidated by the trail that is located in the back right corner of the yard. its a very easy short trail to Zabriskie's Waterfall with benches you can sit an enjoy the view and sounds of the falls. even in September the water ran strong but if you really want to see it in its full glory come in the spring. the Montgomery Place is a wonderful place to spend the day with the whole family.

Beautiful old estate on well kept grounds with a river view. Small formal garden, a reflecting pool, short wooded hikes, & comfortable chairs to sit on the porches (3 seasons). Bathrooms in 2 places (may be seasonal) & wheelchair accessible.

Nice walk between the trees to the mansion. Great views of the Hudson river from the back side. Didn't get to see the mansion from inside.
