I only went there to pick up some Goldfish. I didn't explore the whole store. There is plenty of parking outside and the store looks large and well stocked. I'm not sure if I got there at a bad time but The store seems to be understaffed. I only saw about four or five other customers at the time I was there but it was pretty hard to find someone to help me.

They have your normal pet store animals like birds, fish, rodents, and reptiles. They also have adoptions for cats on certain weekends in certain months as well as grooming and training classes for cats and dogs. They also have a wide variety of food, toys, treats, housing enclosures for cats and dogs, and your everyday supplies for any pets.
Ferrets are technically illegal within the 5 boroughs. Try a.place on the Island. Birds of Paradise has them. On i think merrick blvd.

I can confirm. This petco store is not good. My online orders are sayibg ready for pick up and then they tell me in store that they dont have my items... I have made better experience with the union square petco though. And turle bay is not bad neither, just further away.
