I use to frequent this place back in the day when they were around the corner in the Oaktree Center. That location closed a while back and after few years they opened this location on Main Street replacing Setagaya ramen. The offer is roughly the same. The prices are little higher but that's expected. Service is good and the food is tasty. Portions are generous and they still have tons of manga available for you to read while you eat.

The deep-fried chicken is bit of salty and oil, and miso soup ramen taste is not as good as expected. But the price is fair, and the service is good.

Pretty good place to eat! It was a small place for our party of 16 but they managed and were very nice to accommodate us. We came at a perfect time too, just when other groups were leaving. Glad they have a miso as a base for vegetarians. They do have a small section of vegetarian dishes. They have a bookshelf of Manga you can read while you eat then place it back on the shelf while you're done. Very nice & friendly staff. 👌

Edit: we went again and the soup had a very burnt flavor. The main chef wasn't there so it was made by other people and they clearly did not stir the soup as they heated it. The soup tasted very unpleasant. The staff should be trained better. I am giving it 4 stars because it has only happened once in the many years we've gone. Hope it doesn't happen again. Original review: Have been eating at Batten for a while. First time going to batten after they relocated to Main st. I prefered the previous atmosphere better, but the ramen tastes better now! I guess that's all that counts 😋

Bring your own beer/bottle/beverage. Meaning they don't sell alcoholic beverages but you can bring your own to enjoy with your meal (possibly for a fee)
