We used the appointment feature for car registration, on the website. Worked great. In and out in ten minutes.

City hall claims to be open until 5pm with walk-ins welcome. However I arrived at 4:38pm today to simply renew registration which would have taken all of 5 minutes and stood there for 5 min with no one around, finally a woman came out of somewhere and said they were gone for the day!! I said oh I thought they were open until 5 and then she walked away! Seriously 😒 do better city hall. You have a job like everyone else. Very frustrating to drive here for nothing.

The staff are truly wonderful people and have always been a pleasure to interact with however the policies are absurd. 6 months ago in the middle of lockdown and the pandemic I was able to register my vehicle in person same day walk in. Today it's by appointment only and over two weeks out yet the entire city is at full capacity everywhere else. It's absolute government hypocrisy at its finest. Don't worry, they will have no problem raising your taxes in the middle of a pandemic though and then reassess properties and raise them a second time.

City website press release mentions expanded outdoor dining will end Nov. 15th. Street traffic patterns will return to normal after that.
You will have to make a copy of your drivers license previous registration and payment and a note stating what you need them to do. This all goes into a drop box in the back of the building. You can also request a phone call before any charges are made. When I first moved here I needed my lease and maybe a utility bill. Also in your situation call to before to see if you may need anything further. I hope this helps. My registration is up on the 31st so I just did this on Wednesday. Good oh and im not sure when they will reopen.
