The humane society likely saved my kitty's life. My male cat was sick with an upper respiratory infection and was getting worse by the day, hacking, dripping from his eyes and drooling. Very lethargic. I was in touch with them and my regular vet who couldn't see him for at least two weeks. The humane society scheduled him for next Thursday but had a cancellation for yesterday, examined him and immediately got him all the treatment he needed. They took my calls and gave me advice beforehand, calming my ragged nerves with kindness. My kitty is already showing signs of improvement, and the cost was very affordable. I am so grateful for this and all the times I've brought my kitties to them. Thank you so much! π

I got both female dogs fixed here and they did so wonderful with them! It didn't even slow them down! I mean they were a little tired the first day, but the next day they were back to their playful selves! I couldn't believe it! Thank you so much for your gentle hands! Five stars hands down!

Great facility. Because of Covid you need to call and schedule an appointment, but I left a voicemail and they got back to me the next day to schedule a time to meet the dog I was interested in adopting. They let me introduce the dogs twice to make sure they got along, and now I am the proud mama of a beautiful, well behaved pup!

I've had 2 animals in my life from Windham County Humane society. They were both great additions to my family. I really appreciate what they do. Wealth of knowledge, expertise, and caring individuals. Thanks-

They can also help advertise and find a placement to avoid any time at the shelter.
And do .. jamica
Not at this time, keep an eye on the website and our facebook page. Thanks!
We have very few dogs and no brittney's. I suggest googling brittiney rescues. Good Luck!
Hi Cynthia, It is $65 and includes a rabies and distemper vaccine, nail trim, ear cleaning and flea/tick preventative if needed. You can book an appointment here: https://clinichq.com/online/58965a1f-f16e-4b62-a552-c60bae01bff5
Not at this time - keep an eye on our website. It is up to date.
You can check our lost and found here: https://windhamcountyhumane.org/lost-found No orange kitty's reported missing. Since there is no leash law for cats, it is legal for owners to let them roam. If kitty looks well fed, he is probably owned.
Thanks so much for letting us know.Since you witnessed it, perhaps you could report it to their customer service department. There is legislation in Vermont that permits people to break in if a dog is in distress, provided efforts have been made to find the owner and law enforcement has been contacted.
Hi Jeannette, Our website is connected to our database, so it is up-to-date and animals listed for adoption on our website are available. https://windhamcountyhumane.org/cats right now we have two older kittens, 5 months old, adoption fee is $100, younger kittens are $250. We have kittens coming back from foster in the next few weeks, so keep your eyes on our website. Their adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, free vet exam, one month of free pet health insurance. You'll spend a lot more than that on your "free" kitten on your first trip to the vet!
Yes, it does. You can sign up for the program on line or stop by the shelter. We are open Wednesday to Sunday, noon to 5.
Hi Ellen, we do on occasion. Have you liked our facebook page? We post transport dogs there. Our website is tied to our database, so it is always up to date. I do not keep up with all the rescues - I would google bernese rescues and see what you find, then do your research to see if they are reputable. good luck!
Wags to Riches will happen on April 6th at Club VT in Putney (formerly the Putney Inn). We'd love to see you there - you can register here: https://windhamcountyhumane.org/event-listings/2019/4/6/12th-annual-wags-to-riches-party-amp-auction
