I'm here for the 2022 season. Since being here for over a month now, I have pros and cons I'd like to share. PROS: I felt at home right away. Everyone here is friendly and helpful, lots of social activities, being at the beach is good for your soul, and watching the sunsets is amazing. CONS: I was told my lot would be leveled before I arrived, but it was not and I'm still waiting for that to happen. Whatever company they hired to clean the bathrooms should be fired. Their standard for cleaning leaves a lot to be desired. Pretty sure they haven't cleaned the floors or walls or shower area in ages, if ever. Lastly, the wifi is not reliable. BUT I LOVE IT HERE! I plan on making Shady Shores my summer destination every year, but will be moving to a lot that's level and I can see the sunset from my porch.

This is our 5th year tent camping here and the 1st year with the new owners. We LOVE this location. Beautiful views. Beautiful sunsets. Cute local town. The local Pier and marina. The rocky beach. The playground. The holiday events put on by the seasonal campers. And we certainly LOVED when the Lee family was running the place. I'm so sad to say that I don't think we'll be returning to camp here again. The Lees set our standards very high with their warm, welcoming personality and meticulous care of the campground. The husband and his grandchildren were always out working the grounds, talking to campers and making sure everyone was settled and happy. This year, upon arrival, the place seemed empty in terms of workers. We waited awhile for someone to open the office door so we could check-in. No issues with our campsite. It was quiet and great, as usual. The playground was not taken care of. One of the swings was broken, my husband climbed up himself to fix it. All the balls were deflated. There was no garbage can in site so by Monday, when we left, the place was littered with trash which we ended up picking up ourselves because we couldn't stand to see it that way. No ball on the tetherball pole. No sand trucks like before. The grass was cut halfass. The port-a-johns had always been clean and well cared for. This year, they were gross and appeared unattended to for some time. The shower house was decent on Friday but gradually got deplorable over our 3 day stay. I notified the young girl behind the office counter that they needed toilet paper and soap and that the shower nozzle was broke and the water wouldn't turn off. Next time I went to use the bathroom, one roll of toilet paper was on top of the metal dispenser and the soap was watered down to make it go further. Really? Take the time to put the toilet paper on the roll and spend some money on new soap. Even if you had to make a trip to the store. Geez. But they did fix the shower! Sunday night we noticed that the toilet had been clogged and they had placed a plunger in front of it so no one would use it. The next morning it was fixed but we had noticed that it must of flooded over as there were still broken pieces of wet toilet paper all over the entire floor. Grossed me out and I was grateful to be leaving. The wood debri down by the channel is pretty bad this year from the water levels being so high. There's not much control they have over that and their newsletter does state that they've asked for help cleaning it up. But I'm pretty sure, in previous years, the Lees had started working on the cleanup themselves with their own equipment. The Hay ride was fun for the kids but the staff was less than enthusiastic about the whole thing. Its hard to believe that the Lees would sell such an established place loved by so many to ppl that weren't ready to bust their butts to keep it up. Maybe our expectations were too high in some regards. We can't expect the new owners to be just a great as the Lees (only wish) but we can have the expectation that the grounds will be kept up. My husband and I have decided to take a day trip to the campsite mid summer to see how it looks. Maybe they're just having a really hard time launching the place. Maybe its too early in the season to get a good feel for how it will be run. I guess we'll find out at our mid summer visit.

The Lee Family has been the Most Incredible, caring, professional owners ever! They just announced they have sold the Campground so they can retire after 20 years of outstanding ownership....We will be so sad that they will no longer greet us with their warm smile and genuine inquiries about our family! The new owners will have to go the extra, extra miles to keep this great campground humming! Our Family has enjoyed the Campground as Lake Front Campers for 40 years! All our good wishes to the new owners on their endeavor!

My other half and I had a most enjoyable time. We did a couple of nights of tent camping and were very pleased. A truck would have been easier for some of the terrain. However; the scenery took our breath away. Pretty nice people; reasonably priced and pretty quiet near the beginning of October 2017. I would recommend it for couples and families alike. The bath house a little small- clean- well supplied and efficient. I would love to return again someday .

Yes, there are a few. Please check our our website page called RVs for Sale. The link is: https://shadyshorescampground.com/rvs-for-sale/ Thank you
The season is from April to October. As far as I know the rates are seasonal, but there is a fee to keep your camper there per the off season. And there are daily camper and tent sights available.
