We got our dog Percival at Pawtucket Animal Shelter, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. Sara, a trainer at the shelter, sat with us for two hours as we tried to get Percy to not be completely frightened of us. Her patience along with ours to get the little pup comfortable led us taking him home. We appreciate all the care they took of our little dude for the two months he was there before he became a part of our family.

The staff is incredibly friendly and care so much for all their animals. They took the time to email me back and forth to find the right match for our home and continue to be involved to ensure our pup's success. Plus the park is the perfect place to go on a walk and meet the pups!

Agreed... i had to pick up my runaway.
Had to knock on doors and windows for 10 minutes. However the attendant was really sweet.
About a month ago, I met a gentleman in Newport who has just gotten a beagle puppy, I think from your shelter. He said the puppy was one of 13. I know this is probably a silly question but are any of these puppies still available?

How do I get a neighbor. dog owner to keep his dog from pooping in our parking lot? I have been nice but this guy is a real jerk . And said it isn't him its the dog ! Frustrated. He will not even pick it up

Hi Eileen! We don’t offer any animals for free, as we incur costs for vetting and care that must be paid to the vet. However, the RISPCA does waive adoption fees for older pets up for adoption!

The typical process is that you fill out an application for the dog you're interested in, and if your application is approved, you can do a "meet and greet" to see of your dog and the other one hit it off. Good luck!!
