There is no booth or signage but surprise! There is a toll. If you are out of state good luck discovering that until you get a bill

Just got a letter from Commonwealth of Massachusetts stating we did not pay a fee of $1.55 plus .60 for mailing. We paid all toll on our trip. Will send in but this is no way to make people return to your state. We have no way to prove we paid.

Though the traffic sucks this is actually one of my favorite bridges in the Boston area because of the beautiful harbor views. Especially in the early morning or evening. But not during rush hour traffic!

Terrible. We understand repairs and upkeep are definite throughout it's span but there must be a better way to do it or not so much at once for long periods of times (2 years!?) to add more to the increasingly growing traffic. We're at one lane going towards Chelsea. Awesome. Getting worse each year. Used to be when you were on the road at 5am you might see a few cars now thats climbed back to 2 or 3 am. 6am is comparable to what rush hour 830/9 am traffic used to be. Too much digging all at once everywhere in ma from RI boarder to the NH line. Dig a hole, disrupt traffic. Later fill it in with rocks(disrupt traffic) and leave it till the fall the dig it out(disrupt traffic) and pave it with camel humps. NH built a whole overpass and ramp during a summer season.

I assume you mean the Market Basket in Chelsea, and coming from Boston and/or points to the nearby south/west of it. If so, the bridge is the QUICKEST route, but understand you WILL pay an outbound toll (and conversely an inbound toll on the way back) if you choose to go that way. Tolls are deducted automatically through the toll gantries with either an E-ZPass transponder or Pay-by-Plate mailed charge. There are however several free, albeit usually longer ways to go, the most direct of which is Route 99 to Route 16 to 2nd St or Everett Ave . If you know how to cut through the Chelsea /Everett Produce District you can eliminate Route 16, albeit at the expense of your car's suspension taking a beating. There are also the even more roundabout way of the Fellsway (by the Assembly Sq Mall and Wellington Station Landing) to Route 16 to 2nd St or Everett Ave. Like all other traffic patterns, travel time depends on the time of the day and the volume of incompetent drivers.
No, vehicle use only
Work is being done on both levels of the bridge, expected to last two years. There will be lane closures, but so far only slower traffic has been reported.
Yes, cancer of the wrist.
