I have wanted to go here for years (after learning about this garden from the Outlander series). It did not disappoint! So many beautiful plants, trees, and walking paths.

Lovely little historic garden in Philadelphia. Nice place for a quick visit and stroll. We spent approximately an hour here and saw everything except for inside the buildings.

We enjoyed our visit during Earth week. It was exciting, my students got to plant herbs. It was 75 degrees. It was such a beautiful day, and wonderful learning experience.

Love the house, trails and everything about this place. It is such an interesting site and wonderful that the Schuylkill trail will be connected through here eventually. Perfect quiet trails for kids. Wonder why it is not more used.

Yes, That's the standard Law any where you go out in Public., Be advise that's for your safety as well as for other's. The Golden Rule when walking animals you should have the animal leech. Safety is always first your protection as well as other animals.
I am not sure as this is an open public arboretum. It is quite beautiful... Lots of weddings and special events are held here... I am native American and attended a Pow Wow at this location... Very beautiful natural trails... Please contact them directly and they can tell you the pricing of holding an event... 😊🌻
Yes. There are nice areas you can have your picnic at. Down by the river there is a trail and just off the path there are flat bolders offering shade, a view of the river and if you're lucky a nice breeze. If you choose a Saturday for your picnic you can enjoy free kayaking/row boats before and/or after. There are also boat prow shaped decks with benches if you want to eat off the ground
Check website for more info but Saturday 11-3 free boating and evening full moon one a month.
Bartram's Garden is a 45-acre urban river garden and National Historic Landmark on the banks of the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia. It was founded in 1728 by American botanist John Bartram; he and his family maintained their farm, garden laboratory, and international plant business there for three generations.
Worked and volunteered at BG for 4 years. BG does not "technically" allow grilling as it isn't good for the sensitive environments there, also persons have disposed of ash in illegal manner. People have grilled here, not caused a problem and not been kicked out, however the official answer is no.
I didn't see that specifically, but it's very low key and low control in general - there should be no problem.
