I had my fair share of both positive and negative experience with living in apartments and I don't generally leave a poor review but I have to share my negative experience with this poor management. I tried to sign a lease with this place after the staff management showed me around the place. I had my fair share of encounters with leasing as an international student from Canada and from my previous experience, I knew there are a little more paperwork involved with the whole process. I relayed this information to them before paying the initial deposit and Kyle told me that this will not be an issue. After I paid the initial deposit of $840, I came across so many issues with getting my guarantor approved because they were from outside the states and in the end, I got denied several times until I had to give up on living at this residence. After I got denied, I tried to get my initial deposit back. In the beginning they told me that there were admin fees involved which I could not get a refund but informed me that I could get $500 dollars back if I cancel within 21 days. After I got denied, they told me that their policy regarding a refund is within 72 hours and told me I could not get a refund back after I went through this whole ordeal... THEN eventually I tried to file a lawsuit at a small claim court because my guarantor got rejected and they finally claimed that they will give the $500 deposit fee within 4 to 6 weeks. Now it's been 3 months and they are continuously giving me excuses until I give up on my deposit fee. I agree with some of these experiences of unprofessional, misinformed staff, and Kyle basically dictating the entire process and preventing us from contacting higher management. Very frustrating, unprofessional, lack of communication and transparency. I will be filing a lawsuit at a small claim court. The residence may be nice but the management here makes this place unbearable.

I lived here alone for a year and miss it so much already! I was working towards my Masters at Drexel and loved how everything was walking distance. I felt safe, and had zero issues with maintenance fixing things whenever needed (which was hardly ever). Highly recommend, especially for those living alone.

I'm currently a student at a nearby university and this is my first stint at Old Quaker. I have actually had just such a lovely time here.. Besides for the unique features of the building, all of the other residents are very welcoming and respectful. I have not had to file a single noise complaint and the building and grounds are always super clean. Whenever I was searching for an apartment, I found that Quaker was the coziest spot in the area and I've really carved out a nice piece of home within the community.

I have lived at the Old Quaker Building for the past two years, and I had an absolutely wonderful experience here! Anybody looking to rent in University City should put the the Old Quaker Building at the top of their list. The only reason that I am moving out is because I am graduating from school and found a job that requires relocation. This building is clean, quiet, and beautifully maintained. For the amount of money that you would spend on little space in surrounding high-rises, you can get so much more at this property. Old Quaker has charm in its unique history (reflected in the distinctly different units throughout the building), and though it has outlived the surrounding high-rises, the units themselves are completely updated with top-of-the-line appliances. My unit faces the back of the building, so instead of looking at a busy city, I have a view of pretty trees (providing privacy and a nice feeling of escape). In regards to cleanliness, I never saw so much as a bug in my unit. You can tell that the hallways were consistently vacuumed. Any minor maintenance requests were handled promptly (24 hour maintenance). Clearly, the building was constructed well, as I always had the quiet needed to study. The staff was always friendly, and a nice greeting from Manager Jackie always brightened my day. I have never written a review, but I felt like the Old Quaker Building deserved a good one! It is in an ideal location: walking distance to all of my classes, surrounded by campus security, and right across the street from a block of great restaurants. I will definitely miss it here.
