I wanted to find a vet that was close to home and after doing some research went with PG Animal Hospital. From the very first contact and throughout each of my baby’s appointments they’ve been wonderful. Communication is on point. They are professional and friendly. I love how they’re still following Covid protocols! The various staff I’ve interacted with show obvious delight in the animals they care for. My only complaint is that they don’t accept pet insurance. But, they do work with you by providing estimates of what needs to be done and thereby helping you prioritize any work so you can make the best choice for your pet. Hespera and I thank the staff and vets for their care!

Great Staff, from the Vet techs that come out to your car to greet you, to the front desk and over the phone. The Dr is super detailed and goes in depth over the whole process of your fur baby while in their care. I know my furbabies are in good hands.

I tried to get my new rescue a doctor's appointment with the vet that originally checked him and they had nothing available. My other fur baby is a patient at PG Animal Hospital so I called. They had an appointment available right away! The staff is pleasant, and I absolutely love the Vet. Right now, vet techs come get the dogs from the car- The tech was super nice, I could tell he was smiling behind his mask and he was so gentle in getting my big boy leashed up to go inside. The appointment was so fast! I was able to do everything before work! The Vet calls right after the visit to explain what he found, his diagnosis, and to advise what he's prescribing and how to administer the meds. He also advised a follow up time frame. The Vet is so gentle in his tone with me, and you can discern he has to be just as loving to the animals. I have the ultimate trust in this facility, the staff and Vet with my two babies.

Great first visit! Checkup went well even though owners can’t come in with your pet. Affordable services!! Lovely staff, friendly and attentive Vetrinary Doctor, he called me during the visit with updates through every process. Happy kitten mom :)

Hey that's a really great question! I'd recommend having us or another veterinarian look at her teeth to figure out if she actually needs a dental cleaning. If she has smelly breath or lots of tartar/plaque on her teeth, she likely does. I think many adult and senior pets do desperately need dentals done - many have tooth root infections, abscesses, painful teeth, and also the bacteria in the mouth can spread elsewhere in the body causing kidney, liver, or heart problems. Feel free to give us a call if you wanted to schedule a checkup. Sincerely, Rahul Khianey, DVM.
Hi Lupe! Ismella is right - cost can vary based on age, size, and previous vaccination history. I would recommend calling in for a good price quote. What to expect: Your pet will have an IV catheter placed to give sedatives/pain relievers and also give fluids to support their blood pressure. They will receive good oxygen and monitoring during the procedure. The spay will be performed and the doctor will call you after the procedure to let you know how everything went. We keep patients that have spays until next morning to make sure they are doing well, and through their stay they will get good pain relievers and antibiotics. They are sent home with a collar to prevent them from licking at the incision, pain meds, and discharge instructions - mainly activity restriction. Hope this helps!
No, we do not take walk-ins, you have to have an appointment to be seen. You can give us a call at the office at 301-577-9400 to schedule an appointment. Thanks and have a wonderful day!
No, we only work with dogs and cats at our facility. Take care.
Hello! For ethical reasons, we do not perform ear cropping at our hospital - it's a cosmetic procedure that is very painful to do with a long recovery. If it is something you desire, you can look elsewhere, but as a veterinarian, I would not recommend having this done. Wish you the best.
