Outstanding fourwheeler repair service, communication, and transparency through a very lengthy rebuild. I recently purchased a 2012 Polaris Sportsman 800 from a neighbor that was moving away, and it was trashed and needed a lot of mechanical work. I bought parts from HPAK Wasilla thinking I could do some myself. It turned out to be a massive undertaking and I wasn't qualified to do much. I called them and they identified the problems from my descriptions and told me if I dropped it off it wouldn't be able to be worked on for another four weeks due to other repairs in progress. I wasn't thrilled about that timeline but it needed to get done during the winter. They started four weeks later as promised and worked quickly. They uncovered multiple expensive damaged parts and problems I was vaguely aware of and every time the called me to tell me and get my approval for cost increases along with detailed costs and part descriptions. I got about 4 different phone calls to let me know about 4wd assembly damages, damaged bearings, damaged wires, broken pieces, and worn out parts.... that was on top of the issues I was already aware of. I planned on spending $1900 and spent $3400.... and I couldn't be happier. My Sportsman 800 drives like a new machine! The steering is tight and responsive, the drive assembly is smooth and quiet, the engine performs perfect, the rear axles no longer wobble when power is first applied, and they recommended removing a poorly installed lift kit and because of that the machine now handles superbly. They even returned the additional parts that I had bought and never installed even though the part boxes were dirty and grease stained. I have had several snowmachines, dirtbikes, and fourwheelers rebuilt and I've never had an experience at a shop that went this smooth and made me feel so valued as a customer. Great big thanks to Tim and thanks to the team at Hatcher Pass Polaris Alaska in Wasilla. I highly recommend them from the experience that I had.

Pathetic Service! I dropped off a primary clutch assembly for my 2019 570 Sportsman to have the clutch bearing replaced. It seized after 49 hours of lite use. That speaks to the lack of quality of Polaris machines another subject. So far so good, They called and said the bearing had scared the clutch shaft and I should get a new clutch for $630. I said unless it’s galled or undersized just clean up the shaft and install the new bearing. They called back 20 minutes later and said the clutch Sheave had broken into 3 pieces when they were torquing the spider down. Just a “that sometimes happens when torquing the spider to 350 ft. lbs.” And I quote “Polaris just wants you to throw those old clutches away” And it will be just a half hour labor. I picked up the box of parts. They accepted No responsibility for destroying a otherwise like new clutch I sure didn’t pay them a dime. 1. The shaft FYI was completely serviceable except for where they had obviously got on it with pipe wrench and destroyed the threads. 2. The specs. call for torquing a clutch spider is 280-300 not 350. Bottom line for 40 years if I accept a gun into my gun shop and I accidentally damage it, I stand behind my workmanship. Not at Hatcher. Never again.
