Lori is very knowledgeable about any type of the cockatoo species. I just dropped off the loves of my life Mr. Magoo (Eleanora) and Jerri (Sulphur Lesser). Best pets ever, and they are very high maintenance, but worth it. I had Magoo (25) …

My "Bully" we love him very much, it was so hard to say good bye. Unfortunately due to my Dad's age & health we needed to move 2500 miles away to take care of him. We miss our Bully so much but we also have a laughter in our hearts …

Questions & Answers

Why not return them to their native homeland then if you feel so bad for them being so stressed and harmed here in sanctuary? They belong in the wild where they came from, Its the right thing to do.

Because they won't take them I tried it against the law

I was wondering how I could find out if you are looking for volunteers? I was helping out at zazus in Woodinville before I had complications with my pregnancy. Parrots are my passion :)

How do I get information about placing my Cockatoo at this sanctuary. How do I find out if there is room. And what would the cost be?

You’ll need to call Lori Rutledge. Her phone number is on the website page.

When my birds get adopted will I be able to visit them?

Rene Cruz | Dec 16, 2019

No visits, but you can call and talk with the woman who operates the sanctuary.

We live close to you. I was wondering if you re-home your birds? I'm looking for a Timnah African Grey

No we don't adopt, buy, trade, breed or barter. The birds that are donated, came to us with the agreement they would stay here. Because Cockatoos can have "issues", many would be unlikely to be successfully adopted into a permanent home. They suffer in the revolving door of bouncing from home, to home, to home. I have lost hope in adoptions for Cockatoos. Good homes are few and far between.
