I was a camper at Legacy Camp in August of 2021. I found the facility to be quite well organized and well run! There are many horses (around 70 as of August 2021) that are rescued here and they are given excellent care. The way that DEFHR is run (schedule, individual horse needs, etc) ensures that the horses are healthy and content and that everything on the farm is in good condition. I really enjoyed being a camper, the counselors/staff that interacted with the camp were all pleasant and eager to help out. It made my experience very enjoyable:) Would love to come and volunteer here soon!

The place was amazing. I went there to volunteer and the staff was fabulous. They had so much passion for their work. They had so much information to share with us. I was very impressed with what it had to offer the horses. The buildings looked in good condition and they were making wonderful upgrades and additions to the property. It was wonderful. I can't wait to be able to help the horse as well.

I loved visiting for this place. It was my first time... I wasn't sure if I wanted to go but I'm glad my husband changed my mind. Its beautiful!! The girl who gave us the tour was so sweet and told us so much about this amazing place. Can wait to come back again.
