I needed to replace a tree that came down during a wind storm and I knew I wanted a redbud. Hailey Clark was very knowledgeable and helped me pick out a wonderful tree-thank you Hailey!

We've used a handful of local nurseries and landscapers to help add some privacy to our open backyard. Sun Nurseries was far and away the best of them all! Edgar came out to our home twice to help us make a plan for some evergreens, holly bushes, junipers, arborvitaes and schip laurels. He inquired about some unique trees we wanted to add and also about the height of others that he could get. The team delivered everything today and were so knowledgeable. They even helped fix some mistakes that another nursery made in our yard. Additionally, they have a much better staking system than other nurseries and don't use sharp metal wire, which is easy to hurt yourself on while gardening. For many reasons, too many to state here, we love Sun Nurseries and will use them for everything we can!

The Nursery itself was very nice! Tons of plants, shrubs, trees, ground cover to choose from. A very nice lady by the name of Megan was very helpful with everything. We shopped for 2 hours. Yes the line was very long, but it moved very easily and was nothing to complain about. I had selected 2 juniper, a Hinoki Cypress, and a very small maple. My girlfriend went with a very nice Lilac. Standing in that long line and about 3 people in front of us before reaching the indoor cashier, and find out that I'm not able to purchase the Junipers or the Cypress due to not fully developed roots in the pots, and being told if they are repotted and do not survive it would look bad on them. I never place blame on a Nursery for any plants or shrubs dying off as I'm very thorough with inspection before buying. I wanted these specific Junipers and Cypress due to the ease in which I could Bonsai with minimal harm to the tree itself. There were no signs saying those plants were not available yet. Basically I did nothing but window shop the nursery which was very frustrating to say the least.. update as of 05-17-2021 at 7:30am I have been contacted regarding my experience and believe it was handled with proper communication and I'm pleased to receive a response so quickly. I have now updated to a 3 star experience and will continue to do so when we come to an understanding! Update 05-17-2021 @ 4:45pm all is right in the world with Sun Nurseries. We were taken care of today and I came home with 2 of my plants and a Mikawa Yatsubusa Maple!!! Thank you Dan and Annette for setting the example for top notch customer service!

Great nursery in Howard County, MD. Huge selection. Very friendly and very knowledgeable staff. Really diverse selection of plant, trees, shrubs and pretty much any other things you would need related to plants. Very efficient check out, even with a Saturday crowd. Prices are very reasonable. Parking lot can get a little crowded. But, worth the drive from Ellicott City or Columbia. Highly recommended.

We do have fruit trees. We are pretty low on stock, at the moment. We will receive most of our fruit trees in the fall. September time frame. Give us a call ahead of time to make sure they have arrived. Or, call and leave your information and we can contact you, when they arrive. Thanks for your interest!
I've always carried everything in to pay unless i was having it delivered, in which case i carried in the tag. Then they give you plastic ribbon to tie into the tree along with a tag to attach to the tree with your last name & phone number. But... There's always been someone around to ask for any questions I've had.
You can call Sun Nurseries or look up their inventory online. Calling is better!
Thanks for contacting Sun Nurseries. We have discontinued growing and selling PawPaws. There is some medical research that most likely links a compound in them to irreversible neurological damage. We would prefer to err on the side of safety. Thanks.
