My six year old daughter has been seeing Dr. Sheu at Hacienda Pediatrics since her very first dental visit. Dr. Sheu and her staff are extremely well versed in making a child feel excited about visiting a dentist. My kids constantly ask me when their next dentist visit is going to be. They have state of the art equipment, tablets/screens playing cartoons for the kids while they are being worked on to alleviate their anxiety, to a prize/token system that rewards the kids for brushing their teeth and committing to good hygiene. Today was when Dr. Sheu did her magic. My daughter’s first adult teeth began to protrude out behind her two baby teeth. Although her two baby teeth were very loose she refused to wiggle them due to fear of pain. I brought my daughter in to see Dr. Sheu and due to the trust and bond my daughter had built with Dr. Sheu, my daughter agreed to have Dr. Sheu extract the two loose teeth. Dr. Sheu was very patient with me and my six year old. She provide a detail explanation of the process and made the experience pain free for my daughter. Now my daughter has two teeth for the tooth fairy. If you are searching for a great pediatric dentist Dr. Sheu is the dentist to visit.

We love Dr. Sheu and her staff at Hacienda Pediatric Dentistry. My 9yo son just had 2 teeth extracted and Dr. Sheu was very gentle and explained every step to my son making him feel calm with such a scary procedure.

Dr. Sheu is the greatest! My 6 year old daughter was nerves about getting her 2 tooth distracted. She made my daughter as comfortable as possible and help her through this by telling her jokes and talking to her. My daughter said she didn't feel a thing! And the best part is Dr. Sheu office checked up on my daughter later on that evening to see how my daughter was doing 😊 I highly recommend Dr. Sheu and her team to anyone they are the sweqtest and really know how to handle terrifying kids

What insurances are accepted?

You can utilize most PPO insurances at our office. If you are able to provide us with your insurance information ahead of time, we can verify and explain your insurance benefits to you. There are hundreds of dental plans in existence and we will try our best to be accurate regarding your benefits. However, your dental insurance is a contract between you and the insurance company and your portion is due at the time of service. We are happy to submit claims electronically on your behalf and provide documentation necessary for your health spending plan. Your insurance plan is required to pay within 30 days of a claims receipt and you are responsible for any balances after the insurance payment. No dental insurance covers 100% of all procedures. Most cover between 50%-80% and that coverage is usually determined by your employer that purchased the plan for you.

What Should We Expect for Your Child's First Visit?

First, your pediatric dentist will ask you and your child (if they can respond) a few questions about your oral health, as mentioned earlier. Now is the time to voice any concerns if you have them! It’ll help the dentist when they’re examining your child’s teeth. Afterward, the dentist will perform a dental exam. For babies without teeth, this will be pretty quick, but if your child is a little older, they may need to take dental x-rays. Since the underlying bone structure and jaw development cannot be seen normally, these x-rays are necessary. It’s also easier to identify decay and cavities with x-rays. After that, the pediatric dentist will conduct a dental cleaning. They will remove any hard-to-reach tartar and plaque buildup. For children who are old enough, the dentist can also give a fluoride treatment to remineralize the teeth. This usually lasts 30-40 minutes.
