I have a seasonal spot here. The new owners, husband and wife, Denise and Brian and Denise's dad Butch, are making tremendous improvements including a brand new "honey truck" that pumps your camper tanks clean with latest equipment. Also new private bathroom and showers. This Campground is very private and secluded with local fishing in Penn's creek, and exploring nearby Poe Valley State park. This Campground is close to PSU for football games if interested. This Campground has a pool for cooling off on hot days. It is also pet friendly. There is a local bear that I enjoy rare sightings. However, as in any outdoor PA forest, keep your children close, and follow state park guidelines on bear awareness and cautions. Deer are sometimes seen in camp. Most seasonal guests are older retirees and friendly. This camp is peaceful especially during the work week when fewer guest in camp. The owners are familiar with all seasonal campers and your property is safe. Low chances of anyone hooking up and stealing your camper without owners being aware. Recently this Campground has expanded spots. As with any Campground or woods visit, be courteous and leave no trace of human litter including cigarette butts which are harmful to wildlife. Enjoy your visit.

I mistakenly called the wrong campground and made reservations. Within minutes realized and called to cancel. Spoke to man who immediately cancelled, however noticed my credit card had a pending charge of $42. Apologize for the mistake, the campground too far from home for a short stay. We had hoped ti visit another time. At no point was i told if any cancellation fee or credit card processing fee. Had to call for refund. Was informed about cancellation fee. Again reservation was cancelled within minutes. Not happy about that. Noticed my card was only refunded $30. Called again to ask about the $2. At that point woman said there was a credit card processing fee. Not that $12 is a lot of money its a matter of principal and good customer service. Only gave 1 star because it wouldnt allow no stars. Seriously a matter of minutes! WILL NOT EVER CONSIDER GOING TO THE CAMPGROUND!

Of all the camping we did this summer, by far this was our family's favorite place! This is true camping. Camper site with water and electric was perfectly shaded and gave us plenty of room. We loved how quiet it is here. Denise ,the owner, was friendly, pleasant and accommodating. Her dad Butch was so helpful and a great guy to have around if you need anything. Pool is great size and very clean. Bathhouse was convenient and had everything you needed. Great places to walk our dog. A true place to come and relax and be surrounded by wilderness not other noisy campers like other campgrounds. We especially love that no golf carts are racing through the campgrounds as they are not allowed. It is also very convenient to local grocery and hardware store and gas if you need it. My wife and kids and I will definitely return. We're looking forward to it!

We spent a week here and it is absolutely beautiful. The sites are bigger than most and well shaded . The swimming pool is very nice but is more for adults as it's a bit deeper on low end. They offer electric and water and you can use their dump station on way out. It's a bit on primitive side, but that's what makes it a great camping experience. Bathrooms are small with only one shower but I'm sure in time it will be more modern. Signs up warning of bears as you are on the mountain , deer come right into campgrounds as well , in all it was a pleasant and quiet week. I'd recommend to anyone looking to experience real camping as there is no wifi , which was nice for a change.

Questions & Answers

Hi! Never been camping here before but am thinking about it ! Are there any tent sites that are close to the stream?

The campground could be a half mile from the stream. You would want to drive, uphill back. The tent sites are in a beautiful meadow in the back of the campground, away from camper traffic. There is a B&B in Coburn, you could walk to the stream. Feathered Hook.

Is there access to ATV trails from the camp..or nearby?
