My horses have been with Imagine Farms, at Lee's Summit Equestrian, since 2005. Why a decade with one trainer? Because my horses tell me that they love him - there's no question about that when you see them with Bill and Grace, their trainers, and my development as an equestrian tells me that I have been learning new skills all this time. Training is methodical and proceeds at the pace the horse can physically and mentally handle. And the owner/rider is integral to the process. We have to learn how to communicate with our animals effectively or no training will sustain over the long term. It's funny, but it seems that human beings take longer to learn than their horses, so Imagine Farms carefully oversees and monitors the points at which you and your horse work together to ensure you learn, but not at the expense of your horse's comfort or understanding. That said, there's still tons of interaction with one's own horse. And the entire facility is an open book! Drop by anytime to watch training sessions and other lessons - no big deal And dropping by is truly a pleasant getaway from your everyday concerns. This facility welcomes you in so many ways - from the friendly, concerned management, to the other training clients and boarders. The thoughtfully appointed lounge and beautifully landscaped outdoor areas make it hard to leave after your ride. That's okay, though. All are welcome to hang out on the deck, walk down to the pond, sway on the swing set, pet the goats, or remain in the arena cheering on other lesson riders. Lee's Summit Equestrian says that your horse's home is *your* home away from home, and I have to agree that they live up to this motto. I encourage anyone desiring to one day be a true horseman to check it out. I know that just hanging around for ten years has taught me so much!
