Shakespeare is one of the most well known restaurants in Columbia. It lives up to its reputation of having fairly good pizza. It is not my favorite pizza joint in town, but I understand why others love it. The pizza is greasy and awfully overpriced for what you are getting. However, this location has vast seating, a nice bar, and a party room to make up for it. Lastly, I would not recommend the frozen version of their pizza.

Had the place almost all to myself as I stopped in over the holiday break so the college kids were gone. I the same as the day I set foot over 30 years ago. Terrific atmosphere, the staff was friendly and helpful. I ordered a personal pizza for myself, then took 3 frozen pizzas home for my family. Thanks for a wonderful dining experience; I will keep coming back!

Was passing through Columbia on a road trip and a Mizzou alum recommended this place. The crust on this pizza is the EXACT PERFECT amount of crispy. I'm so sad I live so far away! 😭

Stopped in while visiting from Delaware. We had heard good things and we weren't disappointed. The ambience of the place is cool. It's deceptively large, and has a full bar. The staff was friendly and efficient, and the pizza was delicious. We would certainly return!

No, we don't offer a vegan cheese. We haven't been able to find one that tastes good... they are all so different from regular cheese. Most of our vegan customers like our pizza simply without cheese, leaving it off. There's also a spoilage issue: The few times that we tried to carry a vegan cheese, we would open the package, use it once, and it would go long-date and spoil before we could use the rest of it. We are always open to exploring more options. In the meantime, we hope that our vegan guests will continue to enjoy our stuff as it is, with our fresh (mostly, whenever possible) vegetables an so on, just leaving the cheese off. Thanks for asking!
There is a very small parking lot behind the building. There are also parking spots on the street (must pay the meter during hours) and a few parking garages nearby.
if you're looking to have a lot of people you should probably call them and ask. That way you can reserve
It has been in Columbia since 1973.
