My wife and I took our daughter (5) on her first float here (short float). We had an AMAZING time. Staff was very laid back and friendly. Everything went off without a hitch. The float itself was filled with gorgeous scenery the whole way and the river was very easy to navigate, even for two inexperienced people such as my wife and me. We went early on a Friday to avoid a lot of traffic and party-goers. We have been planning another trip since we got back home. Highly recommend!

We had been thinking about getting kayaks for our property on the St. Francis. But, we wanted to try kayaking before making that kind of commitment. Sadly, we discovered that we may not be agile enough for that particular flavor of water fun anymore. We determined that it wasn't only agility that we lacked. But, our bodies don't move as gracefully as they used to, either. We are both in our 60's. There is a balance thing going on with light craft...canoes, kayaks, etc., that is best addressed with grace. We just didn't have that going for us that day. However, our experience with the Old Cove Canoe livery was very nice. They went out of their way to be accommodating. Mr. Bob went out of his way to make sure we got familiar with the crafts. He even helped rescue my wife when she immediately flipped hers. Theirs is a well run river livery business and very worth the short drive from St. Louis.

Wonderful float company. They do not treat you like cattle being herded like some of the BIG float companies do on the Meremac. Daryll was BEYOND friendly and helpful. The customer service was TOP NOTCH! They even had a wagon to put our stuff in at the end of the float to pull to our vehicle. The bus drive was really short compared to how long our float was [nice bonus] and the bus driver even told us about the history of the area. Prices were lower than a lot of the BIG companies too! We did a raft, so we only did the short float. Great stretches of the river. LOTS of gravel bars where we could pull out, eat, swim and have fun. Only a few places where you really had to make sure you were staying in the current to not get caught up by hazards. There was heavy motorboat activity on the water, but it was a Holiday weekend. They were all respectful and slowed down and made way for the folks in kayaks, canoes and rafts.

Simple little place for a float. Very nice and helpful getting in the water after the bus ride. I usually go to Huzzah Valley but Old Cove prices are slightly better than other places so that's usually why I go there for just a day trip. Only downside is they run out of things because they are so small. They had no more canoes or rafts on a normal Sunday. Also of note, the float route is heavily trafficked by locals so lots of motor boats running by. Watch your kids (and yourself) carefully because the boaters don't always slow down. Overall a good experience there.

Try Ozark Outdoors.
Yes a small one
They most likely will make you take a 8 man raft
I would suggest a raft to be on the safe side, they don’t tip over and bounce off of any obstacles. Thanks for checking.
How. Much for the short trip to rent the largest raft for 2 people
