This place is truly wonderful. They helped me tremendously when I had a difficult situation with a neighbor passing who owned 4 dogs. So kind and willing to help. Highly recommend Home Free if you're looking to adopt.

On June 23rd I went to the Newport Beach Animal Shelter to make a large donation of food/treats. They did not accept any brand besides Petigree or Milk Bones (I had Blue Buffalo/Wellness/higher brands) but said this 2nd Chance Animal Rescue across the street always needs food and they accept any type of food. The lady I spoke to in the NBAS building helped me unload all the bags onto the bench outside this Animal Rescue and told the manager to come out and help me. After sitting outside in the hot sun for over 5 minutes a older black man came outside, completely ignored me and my donation, and went to casually chat with a man waiting for someone. The man he went to casually chat with finally pointed to me and was said I was waiting for him to come out and help me with my donation. The worker was anything but nice and helpful. He asked me what I wanted (rudely) and I stated I had a sizable donation of food and treats that I'd like to donate. He scoffed at me and and said to just leave it sitting on the ground and I could leave. No tour of the place, nothing about the establishment, not even a thank you. Before I could say anything he turned around on me and walked back to talk to the other man. Leaving both me and the man he went to speak to with our mouths hanging open. I was so shocked I got in my car and left. But I 100% whole heartily regret leaving that food for this poor, poor excuse of a shelter. This is my last time ever coming here and I will actively spread the word to everyone I can to never come here.

I’m sorry but I don’t understand your question?
No, I'm sorry, we only take senior dogs or dogs with medical issues from local shelters.
No. We charge a $200 adoption fee to help cover the costs of rescue, food, medical expenses for our animals. Thanks.
Hi! We do have a volunteer program. Our rescue is affiliated with the city of Newport Beach Animal Shelter— we are both at the same location. Therefore, they run our volunteer program. For all of the information on how to volunteer, please see the Newport Beach Animal Shelter website. Thank you so much!
I do not know I am just a volunteer Walker there 3 hours a week you would have to contact them and ask what city do you live in because that's the city that would be able to take in the dog?
