These people are amazing. First of all, when judging mental health reviews, remember that perspective is everything, and opportunity to post a review can be rare when coping with mental illness. Dignity. My experience is that the staff treat their patients with a commitment to their dignity. Standards. My experience is that very high standards of care are maintained in extraordinary circumstances. Thank you to everyone involved in this endeavor. You all rock.

Horrible! I just called and the lady was extremely rude at front desk. I wanted to ask a few questions after they cut my meds because they wanted me to get birth control. Find a place with the same psychologists because i got different ones everytime and has to explain my trauma everytime. Then the last lady that i got cut my medication without asking are knowing anything about me. Its all for the state to fund they do not care about you..

I was in the psych ward it smelled like urine. The food was barely edible. The only privacy you get is in the bathroom. There color that surrounds the psych ward is a depressing paint. And when your waiting in their hall ways you can hear people screaming and crying. Since the staff control the lights you can't tell if it day or night. The responds time is sloth slow. The bathrooms were only ever cleaned if someone had an accident. Note:The bathrooms are shared. And one patient smeared feces on the bathroom walls and came out without any pants. The staff was more interested in discussing their social life than overseeing the patients. When you ever ask them for something they acted like you asked them to part the red sea. If you are thinking about sending a love one there for treatment DO NOT! If you truly love that person you will find a better place. Your choices in that place is to summit and shut-up,or keep calling someone to come get you and pray that they come for you. Never show your negative emotions to them, anger, sadness, frustration, or they WILL medicate you. They are only supposed to keep you for three days but if they find probable cause they can keep you for 14 days. This is not told up front, you have to ask for the rule book. This place is abhorrent. I pray for the patients' sanity and endures, that both are strong enough.

Horrible experience at Olive View Community Mental Health Urgent Care Center. I'm not sure what the County considers Urgent Care. I arrived at 6:00 p.m., one hour prior to closing. I had called at 5:40 p.m. to confirm closing time. The receptionist confirmed 7:00 p.m. closing but indicated that there were still MANY patients waiting to be seen from the morning. She recommended that I not come tonight but rather wait until morning. When my son and I arrived, we were the only ones there. He was promptly seen by the social worker and was asked to wait for a doctor. A few minutes later the social worker returned and said the doctor was "wrapping up" and would not see my son, it's 6:10 by this time. It seems, Dr. Allen was done for the day and refused to see my son. I asked, but was told I could not speak to him.I spoke to Sonny, the supervisor who said this was normal practice, although they close at 7:00 p.m. the doctors are not available after 6:00. The staff recommendation was to come back tomorrow morning. By the way, we have had the daytime experience too, several months ago. Arrived at 8:00 a.m. and waited for over 6 hours. This shoddy treatment of the mentally ill is despicable! All the glitz and hoopla around this facility and the politicians who take credit for it is fraud, they are accountable to no one...these people are not doing right by the mentally ill who so desperately need REAL help.

No. There is a financial screening process for all consumers to determine ability to pay. It is standard across all County mental health centers.
