Took my C5 here a few months back after an issue with the car not starting. After having the car for over a week, I was informed that the ignition switch was replaced but it didn’t fix the issue and he can’t figure it out. I told him to check one of the grounds on the engine block to see if that was the issue, but he said he already checked that. A few days pass, and I got a call saying the issue has been fixed and that the ground was the issue (the one that he said was already checked). Even though the new ignition switch did not fix the issue, I was still charged for the replacement and for fixing the ground. I was a bit frustrated at this point but just happy to have the car back. Get it home, and notice a large paint chip on the hood and the driver side door that was not there before. Looked like the hood was slammed with a tool siting in the windshield wiper tray. Fiberglass pieces were literally falling off it was so bad. I also realize at this point that THEY GAVE ME THE WRONG KEY. I had two keys for the car so I didn’t notice this until a couple of days later when I tried to use the second key (the keys looked very similar). Apparently they gave me another customers key by mistake and didn’t notice until 2 days later when I called. I had to drive 45 minutes to return this key, and retrieve my key and was given hardly an apology. Fast forward to now, and the car randomly started having the same problem. So had to have it towed again to a different mechanic, who informed that the ground that was supposedly repaired was just taped so that it would hold for a while and wasn’t actually repaired. So here are I am, paying again for this issue to be fixed when I was told it was fixed the first time Long story short: took nearly 2 weeks to be repaired, chipped the paint on my hood and door, charged me for a part I didn’t need, gave me the wrong key, and didn’t even fix the problem. What an absolute waste of time and money. And he claims to be a “corvette mechanic”. Could have been a fluke but unacceptable nonetheless.
