My son and I went to get our yearly exams at this newer location. The area is spacious and customer service is exceptional. The optometrist is kind, and listens attentively to your concerns. Their eyeglass frame collections are fairly priced and modern. Overall, I had a great experience! Update: We continue to use Iris Optometry for all of our vision needs.

Dr Chang and his staff were just wonderful. They were kind and informative and I was so grateful for their help. I have already recommended them to 3 of my neighbors.

Had a great experience with my annual eye exam with Dr. Chang. From beginning to end the optometrist associates were all professional and kind, and were all willing to answer any questions you have. They also have a special machine that takes a picture of your retina/optical nerves to ensure your eye health is stable, although I believe it costs an extra 49 dollars. If that's what it costs for healthy eyes, worth it in my books. Highly recommend Dr. Chang for your eye health needs, she is patient, personable, and answers all your questions. I did not feel rushed at any point in time.

We currently use the Optos Daytona to do retinal imaging. The Optos machine allows us to take an ultra wide-field 200 degree scan of your retina in a single, less than 1/2 second, pass. Other retinal scanners may require multiple passes to achieve the same result. It is comfortable, easy and faster than pupil dilation with no negative side effects.
We strongly believe in preventive care. Having both optomap® and OCT/OCTA on-site empowers our doctor to catch, diagnose and monitor eye diseases at a much earlier stage than at other practices. Some of the eye conditions we can diagnose are: macular hole, macular pucker, macular edema, age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, central serous retinopathy, diabetic retinopathy, vitreous traction… and potentially early signs of Alzheimer's.
Yes, as of December 2019, our office is proud to feature the AngioVue® OCTA from Optovue. Unlike regular OCTs that can perform only basic OCT scans (cross section picture) of your eye, our model can perform angiography scans, which allow our doctor to visualize the microvasculature (blood vessels) of your retina and choroid without the use of lengthy and potentially uncomfortable contrast dye injection.
The optomap® retinal scan takes a wide 2D surface picture of your retina whereas the OCT scan takes a narrow 2D & 3D cross-section picture of your retina and optic nerve. The optomap® retinal scan is recommended every year during your annual eye exam as a substitution or in addition to dilation. The OCT scan is typically recommended for more advanced eye disease detection and monitoring.
Yes, retinal and OCT scans do not use X-ray technology. optomap® uses low-powered laser wavelengths and OCT uses light waves to take pictures of your retina and optic nerve. Both are non-invasive tests with no known side effects or complications.
We currently do not accept Medicare or Medi-Cal/Medicaid but we accept vision insurance. We continuously review which insurance to accept every year to best serve our patients. If you need an eye exam, Dr. Chang (our primary eye doctor) is known to be sweet, knowledgeable and thorough and we'll be glad to have her see you as an out-of-pocket patient.

Yes, we do. Our office have advanced technology to evaluate and determine the root cause of your dry eye. Based on your symptoms, our optometrists will recommend in-home treatments like a lid hygiene regimen with Avenova antimicrobial spray or EyeEco tea tree cleanser, nutritional supplementation with Omega-3s, medication like Restasis, Xiidra or Cequa, and/or in-office treatments with ZEST or TearCare,
Our doctors care deeply about your eyes and as a business, we reinvest heavily in the latest technology to bring you the best eye care. We can check the health of your retina by scanning both the surface layer (optomap®) and the layers beneath it including blood vessels (OCT-Angiography). We can view your meibomian glands to get to the root cause of dry eye (meibography). Few optometrists have all these advanced tools readily available in one location.
As part of our happiness guarantee, we offer a generous 3-month complimentary -FREE- prescription (re)checks. Like any other doctor's office, fees for professional services rendered (such as fees for time spent with the doctor or fees for diagnostic retinal imaging) are non-refundable. Products (frames, lenses, eyeglasses, sunglasses, etc) purchased through our partner LensCrafters optical store have a 30-day refund policy.
