I love having a local hardware store so close (I’ve lived in the area six years now) and I value shopping local, so I stop in here from time to time instead of going to the large chain hardware stores. If I know exactly what I want I’m a patron and I’m in and out. If I have a project I’m unsure of how to execute, I’ve learned to go to Home Depot instead. The staff at this maplewood location is not friendly nor helpful. Whereas Home Depot staff spend the time to chat with you about your project so they can help you find the right hardware. The stars are given for the heritage not the friendliness.

This place is the greatest. They have almost everything you need to take care of your home repair and DYI needs and the expertise to go along with it.!

Yeah that place is right across the street from schnucks in Maplewood and has been there for probably a hundred years I remember going there since I was a kid and if you ever want to visit a very old hardware store that has a lot of heritage as far as like the counter and the woodwork that's the place to go enterprises are very competitive and they're very good as far as being a local non-corporate hardware store nothing but good things

Great old-timey hardware store in the heart of Maplewood. From the outside, it doesn't look like there would be room for much, but the selection is great. Skip the big box stores and go with your local shop, when possible!
