Food usually very good and so is service but this past Sunday server was not so much even ordered buffet. Wautress never did come back to see if all was good or if we needed anything else.Thought I'd thirst to death, never could get the waitress attention finally had to go to counter and get a refill. It was a little busy but it looked like.most of the customers were eating buffet. So my tip to her was hustle a little more I saw you standing around.

Service was good but sandwich, not so much. Breaded pork tenderloin was very greasy and tasted like old grease. Fried weren't much better. This is the first thing I have gotten there that I won't have again. Friend had Beef stew special and said it was very good.

Always good food and service. Small town atmosphere as well. UPDATED APRIL 13, 2021 I needed to update this old review as I thought I had years ago... I eat here as often as I can for their Dailey specials are not only reasonable but tasty! One of my favorites besides Wednesday and Saturday buffets (the chicken is most excellent) are the nights they serve Meatloaf (Tuesday), chicken fried steak (Monday) and spaghetti (Thursday)! Not that the remaining nights are bad or poor but these five nights (buffets too) are especially great. I sit at the counter and enjoy my meals, and sometimes visit with the other patrons. One older gentleman, Tommy Coambs(?), passed away during the recent pandemic. He would sit at the counter almost every night and watch his YouTube videos and I now learn he was an excellent basketball player, among other sports, in his day. But I digress. So if you're ever in Virden, Illinois, you ought to plan on having a lunch or dinner special here at Showtimes Lanes! PS.. TRY their soups, especially the STUFFED PEPPER SOUP. The fourth picture below is of their cabbage soup which is also most excellent. The other picture is of the cook (first) and order pickup. The third is of their daily special board. But the Piece de La resistance is their STUFFED PEPPER SOUP (second picture). I love it!!! Enjoy.
