Beautiful grounds and buildings. Everyone we encountered was very friendly and willing to answer any questions we had. Definitely worth stopping in and visiting the grounds and the sanctuary.

Absolutely beautiful! Such a spiritual experience and a prime picture of western architecture. The sisters were lovely and I’d recommend going on the tour!

Yes. I don’t remember. We just happened to be there a few minutes before the tour started. It is a very beautiful church.
Not in the church sanctuary. That's for worship only. But they do reside on the grounds of the St. Benedict Monastery.
You should check with their website as opposed to Google maps, as there is no indication they monitor this site.
There are monasteries that aren't Catholic...also, many religious communities also have groups of lay people who wish to live a similar lifestyle without being actual members
1883 - 1887. There was an addition of the Romanesque chapel in 1915. The hall leading to the church itself and the sanctuary are gorgeous. Also, check out the gift shop and the brewery!
I do not think so. The gift shop sells their famous cookies which tastes like those delicious Windmill cookies, chocolates made from other monasteries including one in Massachusetts, religious statues, books, and other handicrafts. Across the way is their own on site brewery, which also sell a a flavorful non alcoholic root beer, home made pretzels and fantastic pizza!
