Great hike with plenty of views along the way to the lake, and the lake itself is beautiful. Although you can view the lake from the top of the hike, if you want to get down and close to the lake I would recommend spikes, as the area is snowed in even in July.

Large parking lot near the trailhead. The hike is moderate with many majestic views once you gain a little elevation. Trail was mostly empty since we started the hike around 4pm. There are several small streams crossing the trail on the first 1.5 miles so be ready to navigate through some wet parts. The lake was still covered in snow :)

Easy to find and plenty of parking. The bathrooms at the trailheads are clean. There is not a good sign at the beginning of the trail, so be sure to go to the trail to your right when starting. Many people went to the road beyond the bathrooms and got turned around. This is a wonderful trail, but very rocky, so hiking boots are helpful. The fog rolled in and we didn't get a full view of Snow Lake, but still worth it.

Beautiful trail. Very rocky. Shoes with good grip recommended. No snow at all as of 9/11/21 but the last mile is a bit wet(not muddy though). Trekking poles optional but would really help. Plenty of parking but still it gets packed during weekends. Would need a nw forest pass or 5$ parking fee can be paid online at parking.

As of Sunday 10/25/20 there was ice and compact snow on the trail, all the way to the parking lot. Micro-spikes advised.
