Dr. Harvey is a great chiropractor - knowledgeable, kind, and professional. I saw him for a hip/spine problem. He listened to my concerns and took my problem seriously, patiently answered my questions and gave thoughtful concern to a treatment plan for me which is already working. I suffered from a herniated disc at my L5-S1 roughly two years ago. It was miserable. I could no longer drive or go to work since the pain from sitting in the car was too much. I had severe sciatica on my right side and it was driving me insane. I had many visits with my doctor and tried prescription pain killers, physical therapy, and finally they told me to get a steroid injection. Turns out from an MRI scan that my herniation was roughly 8mm, protruding out to my right side, impinging on my nerves. I knew there had to be another way out of this instead of having the injection. Throughout the months after the injury, I started to get better naturally. If the onset of the disc herniation was a pain level of 10 (1-10 scale) I was about a 7 roughly 5 months later. Unfortunately, it was also around this time that I had a relapse and I felt like I was back at a pain level of 10. This was so draining physically but also mentally. It felt like I could not live a normal life anymore. Finally, I heard about the Cox Technic which is a little known method used to help promote disc decompression. I tried everything else at that point and I desperately needed some relief. After having Cox treatment for roughly a year I have been able to drop my pain level from a 10 down to a 3. Even though I was getting this treatment, I noticed that I was still having a lot of lower and mid-back pain, especially in the morning. The sciatica and debilitating nerve issues were much better but I was still dealing with a stiff and painful back/hip. This was when I reached out to Dr. Harvey and realized that I still had some issues going on. He pointed out things to me that I never realized regarding my posture and hip misalignment. Even though I had been getting decompression for my sciatic nerve the underlying issue of posture and misalignment was still the main culprit. Dr. Harvey even indicated to me that this misaligned may have been the genesis of the disc herniation. If you're in pain from a herniated disc, I can guarantee you that spinal decompression (which Dr. Harvey provides as well) will work to help manage your pain. Dr Harvey was by far the best doctor I have seen in all my years of living in California. He took his time to really understand the cause and treatment for my severe back and leg pain/sciatica.
