Small but versatile. Go fishing in the creek. There is a .5 to .75 mile hiking loop that can be expanded to 4 miles by taking the path to the Somonauk library. It's very wooded so when windy out great place to take a hike because the wind gets blocked.There's a nice (small) ball field and field houses that can be rented out. In the winter the sledging hill is a must. Did the kids there are play grounds.

Use come here to relax at lunchtime from work till jackass came at me twice accusing me of drinking out there. Like WTH makes you feel like it's public park pay taxes at. Can't even put wrappers In garbage. Freaking Linda

Clean area, in the winter it’s fun for sledding. The creek leading into lake holiday is nice and the path leading to the library is a good bike path

Generations of my family are from the area, but sadly I haven't visited the Preserve in years, Great place for family picnics, trails, nature. I was amazed then by the wildness and beauty there. It has a powerful quietness in its spaces that even as a silly kid (64 yrs now) I understood and respected. Beautiful Nature.
