Here the service is on par if not better than the food. Our waiter, patient and explaining the options, other people who came to our table with silverware or to clean very smiling ear to ear - all good signs that this place keeps their people happy. The food was a standard Californian fare with good mix of some vegetarian options. If you're gluten free and/or vegan, there is not much here for you. As vegetarians, everything we ordered tasted wonderful. The appetizers fill you up and we had difficulty finishing our two entrees we shared between us three. The butter beans with feta, vegetables stew, paparadelle pasta made vegetarian and flatbread were good. We didn't have reservations but we got a table on the sidewalk next to the covered street section. We had heaters behind and on top of the table but the San Francisco winds made the dining uncomfortable. If you can, avoid the sidewalk seating.

Absolutely blown away by the food, service, and organization of this restaurant! I love that there are so many different employees to take care of you (someone to deliver drinks, someone different to take away empty things, someone else to take away used silverware and wipe down any spills between appetizers and your meal). Everything worked like a well-oiled machine. The mushroom toast was so flavorful and the toast itself had soaked in so much. The pork chop was cooked to perfection - juicy yet slightly crisp on the outside. The roasted strawberries were a pleasant topping. Dessert was the rhubarb cobbler with brown sugar ice cream - sweet but not too sweet an d all the flavors just mingled so well. It was not an overwhelming dessert and I didn't leave the restaurant feeling weighed down. The server was able to describe the food in a very poetic way that matched how it tasted and was very enticing. I would go back in a heartbeat!

Incredible service and absolutely amazing food! Perfectly prepared, expert presentation, drinks were mixed impeccably. Definitely need a reservation, as it was fully packed on a Wednesday.

Short but tasteful menu with seasonal options - duck, pasta, veggie stew, etc. I ordered the pork chop and the portion was surprisingly hefty. Te slab of meat was complimented with kale and baked grape potatoes. The fried chicken smelled so good. The drinks menu has some creative cocktails perfect for a cozy winter night in addition to all the wine.

parking on the street can be tricky...its kind of a circle around til you get lucky situation at least on the weekends
You should be able to swap chair. Not sure about the restrooms.
Yes, you can. It's also sometimes the easier solution when it's hard to get a reservation. To get a place at the bar just be there a bit before they open.
Yes. Loads of outdoor seating. The dining room is very crowded.
Give the restaurant a call, yeah.
I think if you call far enough in advance they will take a reservation for a large party. Agree with the other response, confirm any gratuity charges, etc before arrival.
