I am from outside of Chicago, two towns from Cicero named Lyons. I come to Gary sometimes to enjoy the scenery and food. First time trying Gowyd's and man. It was a hit as expected. The chicken and fish were so fresh and crispy. Not skinny fillets with hard parts like you'd get near the city. 10/10.

Not bad but not really good either. The fish was fried to hard so when I bit into it all of the breading fell off. The fries were good. You can skip this trip to the hood because for so so food and non existing customer service, it is not worth the money. There is a McDonald's on every corner folks with better fries.

Our order was wrong and the portions were small. When I called back to report the issue, the person at the register who took our order had to argue with the cook about the order was wrong. The cook had the nerve to claim to had given us extra food when our order was short items we paid for. Very unprofessional, on top of all of our sides were cold. They didn't even warm them for the order. This was our first time at this restaurant, I try to support black business but you really need to do better. Maybe I will try again another time but, was disappointed 😞.

I only write honest reviews FYI ....I used to eat here when I was in town...it was called The Catch at the time. I must say in my opinion the fish is better NOW! I've had the Catfish Fillets and the Jumbo Shrimp which are the size of my hand...GOOD GOOD GOOD They make it how you request it. .it is well seasoned and fresh. The food for the amount you pay is more then enough! And I will and gave recommend this place! Great job guys!!
