Only 9 miles from Mendocino town but a world away. Quiet and rustic. Mostly used by organized groups for dance camps, science camps and retreats.

Such a warm inviting venue, with wonderful grounds keeping staff!! Recommend this place highly for large groups or family reunions! Forewarned you will need mosquito repellent, get a natural one, and enjoy all this place has to offer!

We have been to the Woodlands multiple times, not only to DJ weddings but also to attend camps ourselves - this summer will be our fifth attending Lark Camp as a family! The Woodlands is the most amazing venue, and a little piece of heaven on earth. Photos don’t do it justice, you have to see it to believe it. Just remember extra flashlights, and that even in the summer it cools off at night, so extra blankets are helpful!

Questions & Answers

Is this the howling location. Looks like it is. The cabin with the wolf brand chili on the shelf

Hello Brian, Yes, several scenes from The Howling were filmed in Camp 2, specifically the Gatehouse was used as the cabin you are referring to.

Site map? A good full kitchen to use for a group of ~50??

Hello Cole, thank you for your questions. We have a site map complete with the major trails on our website or linked here. https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5c76d6a8c2ff611d78dc5bdd/t/5ca578e453450afe54475a72/1554348261677/Trailmap2014_web.pdf We have three very different camps all with cull commercial kitchens. Probably the most size appropriate for a group of 50 would be Camp 3, which is designed for groups of 30-80 people.

Would this be a good place to have a wedding?

Yes! I've seen one wedding party already, and it seems ideal... Especially if you're making a weekend of it
