A bit of a wait to get on to the cable car as it's so popular. Our driver was extremely grumpy, as was the ticket collector. I was disappointed as this is a great tourist attraction but you're not made to feel welcome. However the actual experience of being on the car is awesome and well worth doing!

Iconic historic tram ride experience for tourists. But you must queue in a long line and just around 10 first people can get to the outside seats, which are most ideal for photographing, sight-seeing.

It’s so much fun riding the cable cars. What a great way to see the real San Francisco! The hills are the most fun, and it sounds and feels like a roller coaster to boot. Get a transit pass, it’s worth it considering individual rides are $8 each trip (even if you go a block and get off.)

Iconic San Francisco tourist activity! This was a must do on our California trip. The sights and sounds of this antique mode of transportation still delivers thrills and chills!

The Muni Metro lines that run underground on Market St. ARE run by MUNI so you can use your passports there. You might have to show an agent your passports but it's included. The old fashioned streetcars, E & F that run on tracks are MUNI operated too.
The carts are not running until fall I believe
Yes, but don't line up at the station, just walk along the railway a little and make the STOP, it's really exciting!!!
Parking is very limited
It goes to Union Square. To reach Chinatown, you can get off half the way and walk. Use Google map to plan the trip. Enjoy.
