Not a bad little trail system. Mostly prairie and wetland with very little trees so bring a hat. The trails themselves are almost flat enough to be wheelchair accessible. Great bird watching. Pretty easy hike.

It's a very small trail but it's beautiful.

Beautiful just before the sun sets. The dreamy light on the wildflowers was perfect for photos.

I used to live right by it and it was once a nice preserve. After a couple years it all was destroyed by your so called "nature preserve" the trees that were naturally there for years that gave this place beautiful scenery are now gone. Thanks a lot preserve for ruining such a nice place just like you do to many other parks. If I could give this zero stars I would definitely give it zero. It's all part of habitat restoration which I don't see anything like that

There is no lake access or fishing at Elizabeth Lake Nature Preserve. For more information, visit MCCDistrict.org/ElizabethLake. For more information on the northern part of the lake (located in over the Wisconsin border) and fishing that part of the lake, visit: https://dnr.wi.gov/lakes/LakePages/LakeDetail.aspx?wbic=742800

Does anyone know if the southwest trails will be cut and maintained at some point? The parking area is blocked off and the trails are overgrown. This is off of Hawk point dr parking area.

Hi, Dan. The hydrology has changed at Lake Elizabeth the last couple of years. The trails to the southwest have become increasingly wet and difficult to mow. We are currently looking into alternative trail routes that would allow for better maintenance and site user enjoyment. These reroutes will likely take time to be implemented. In the meantime the Ranger staff are monitoring the old trails to see if they dry out enough to mow.

Is it permissible to paddle past the Closed buoys or is it closed to all watercraft?

We paddled up to the closed buoys, I took it to mean to all watercraft. The vegetation is thick
